On Thursday, July 13, a group of volunteers from Optima Bank & Trust repainted a house in Hampton Falls. We had to wait out the rain but it was worth it. As always, they were a pleasure to work with.
For over five years we have been the first stop for a group of Bike & Builders. It’s always a pleasure to host a group of these young, enthusiastic folks and to work with them our build site.
This year they helped us spiff up a house we inherited in Hampton Falls.
After a quick blessing of their bikes at the New Castle beach, they headed off across the country, to continue building and spreading the word about the need for affordable housing.
You can follow their continued adventures on their facebook page, we are.
Bike & Build is a national non-profit organization that works to provide affordable housing and empowers young adults for a lifetime of service and civic engagement. Each year a group of participants bikes across the country, making stops in many cities and towns where they temporarily trade their bikes for hammers and work on the construction of an affordable home with a local housing organization.
