We had a great couple of Women Build days on May 5 and May 12 at our build site in Rochester, NH. Women from all over the Seacoast came out to help build homes for two local families. We had over 50 volunteers over that week and got a whole bunch of building done.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these build days so enjoyable, including Lowe’s Home Improvement, Fresh Vibes Cafe, New England Pizza in Rochester, Dominos of Rochester, Hannaford, Doris Prescott, all of the volunteers who came out and, of course, Doug and Karen for organizing the whole event.
During National Women Build Week we invite local women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The week is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women. Habitat and Lowe’s encourage all women to volunteer—no construction skills or experience in Habitat builds necessary.
This is a hands-on project where our volunteers (men and women) will be engaged in construction and landscaping for a single family home in Middleton NH. Volunteers from throughout southeastern New Hampshire will be coming out to spend a day improving the lives of others. Along with the help of these volunteers and Lowe’s, we will be completing a home in Rochester on May 5 and 12.
This year, Lowe’s donated nearly $2 million to Habitat for Humanity to support the 2018 National Women Build Week, which is set to take place in 300 communities nationwide.
Food and water are being donated by a variety of local businesses, including Lowe’s of Rochester, Domino’s Pizza of Rochester, Fresh Vibes Cafe, and Hannaford of Rochester. Thank you so much for your support!

2018 “Ask Event” Sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank
On the evening of March 8 we had a lovely evening at The One Hundred Club in Portsmouth. Thank you Bangor Savings Bank for sponsoring this annual event. Supporters like you make it possible for us to keep doing what we do. Our newest partner family, the Lauders, joined us and mom, Angela, told us all a little bit about the journey that led her to us and future homeownership.
We enjoyed good food, great company and raised some money to keep building homes for local families. Thanks to everyone who braved the storm.
If you missed the event but still want to donate, please give us a call at 603-433-9555 and we will be happy to help you out with that.
