We had such a great time participating in this year’s Women Build. This year our “Women Build” days were on May 11 and May 13. We had both National and local support from Lowe’s Home Improvement. They supplied the flooring we installed, sent out volunteers and do so much more every year.
Portsmouth Rotary, Seacoast Rotary and Rochester Rotary all contributed money and volunteers to the effort.
Over 50 amazing women came out to help us build.
NH’s first lady and her daughters joined us, Mrs. Sununu spoke very movingly about her childhood experiences with housing insecurity.
One of our local state representatives, Kate Murray, joined us, spoke about the importance of affordable housing and worked hard all day long.
The Works Bakery Café, Domino’s of Rochester, and New England Pizza of Rochester donated breakfast and lunch.
Families from Portland, Maine; New Castle, NH and Milton, NH sent us cookies, brownies and fudge.
Talk about it taking a village!
I am humbled and grateful by how much enthusiasm was sent our way.
Wells Fargo has been a long time supporter of Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity. We are so grateful for all the years of support they have given us. This year, over the past few months they have sent us wonderful volunteers, feed us pizza and doughnuts and recently awarded us a donation of $20,000. Thank you so, so much!
Members of the crew of the USS Springfield joined us for a cold rainy day of building in Middleton and we all had a great time!
A couple of weeks ago we had our annual “Ask Event” at the 100 Club in Portsmouth. As usual the setting, food, drink and company were all phenomenal! One of our volunteers, Brian Tarbell, created this slideshow for the event. If you couldn’t make it to the party you can still see what we’ve been up to over the past year. Thanks Brian!
